A new year brings a lot of exciting things. It brings new resolutions, a fresh perspective, and new goals and ideas. I love all of these things, but there is one thing about the beginning of a year that excites me more than anything else… the new trends!! 2020 is bringing a slew of fun and trends to rejuvenate your closet and send you into the new decade in style.
HEADBANDS ARE BACK
One of my favorite styles making a comeback this year is the headband. Kate Middleton was spotted wearing a red padded headband to baby Archie’s christening. Uma Thurman wore a black thin headband to the re-opening of the Boucheron jewelry house in Paris last month.
A headband is the perfect way to spice up a tired outfit. Pair them with jeans and a top for a casual and flirty look, or pair with a dress to add an elegant flair for your evening out. Also… can we talk about how nice it is to have your hair out of your face? Headbands are perfect for all you girl bosses who don’t have time to mess with hair during the day, but want a put together look. Serena and Blair would certainly approve!
STATEMENT BAGS CARRY THE DAY
Another 2020 favorite of mine is the comeback of statement bags, No ensemble is complete without a fun bag, and there are some incredible ones out there right now. I love this adorable (and super practical) Greyson tote. It is perfect for any girl on the go. Totes are a trendy way to carry around all the things needed for a day of errands or a hectic workweek.
I am also obsessed with this little clutch. It is adorable with a bohemian flair that is sure to spice up any outfit. I love to pair a clutch with a dress for a night out. These babies will hold your phone, keys, and that fabulous lip color, but won’t weigh you down.
HAIR SCARVES SPICE IT UP
Rounding out our top 3 trends for 2020 are hair scarves (obviously hair accessories are in!!). These adorable scarves add a pop of fun to your daily ensemble. My favorite way to spice up an outfit when I was little was with a bow or ribbon, so I am a HUGE fan of hair scarves. Whoever came up with bows for adults is a genius. My favorite way to wear them is with a low curled pony, but I also love them with a half-up half-down style or as a headband. I also will tie them to a leather tote or cute backpack to add a touch of fun.
These three trends are easy ways to make sure you enter the new decade feeling fabulous and confident. 2020, we are ready for you!
